Do I have to be excellent in every category of the rubrics to apply for the Teaching with Sakai Innovation Award?

No. What the award focuses on is innovation at large. If you implemented a great idea to enhance student learning and feel like you might need to improve in some other aspects, please do not hesitate to submit your course.

Excellence in every criteria

It is unlikely that any course would be excellent in every criteria.  It is also not expected that a course would be excellent in each area.  Courses tend to focus on specific aspects of teaching and learning, depending on the expected outcomes and the teachers personal style.  This is a self-assessment. It is equally a learning experience for the entrant and an honest comparison for the judges to evaluate.
