The Teaching with Sakai Innovation Award publicly honors successful pedagogical innovation and best practices in teaching and learning in a Sakai environment. Winners will receive a trip to the 2010 Sakai Conference, June 14-17, 2010, in Denver, Colorado, USA to give a featured presentation about their teaching with Sakai. All entries will become part of the OpenEdPractices.org repository of best teaching practices. The award is sponsored by IBM, with additional support from rSmart and John Wiley & Sons.

Short Biography
As the Director of Online Professional Development for the New Teacher Center at University of California, Santa Cruz I am leveraging seven years of experience designing and delivering a national online mentoring program to launch a variety of online projects to support teacher and administrator induction. Projects range from a national network of induction leaders, online mentor professional development to beginning teacher support networks that are all offered in Sakai. The New Teacher Center Learning Environment powered by Sakai engages more than 2000 educators in online communities of practice.
