This master program "Master’s Degree in Education and Museums. Heritage, Identity and Cultural Mediation", is offered with the presence of international teachers and has been funded by the Ministry of State Department through the Spanish Agency For International Development. The program is on its first edition and it started on september 2010 together with our new institutional eLearning enviroment, Aula Virtual, based on Sakai. Since the program is fully online and the CLE was new to us, we designed all the activities and learning practices based on the capabilities of the different sakai tools.
It is a one year online master which give students the oportunity to start a PhD in "Educación y Museos" from the University of Murcia. There is more information on the master's website. In this first edition, there are 30 students from all around Spain but one of the most important short term priority of this master is to bring together students from all around the world to work together during the program.
Students should acquire the analytical skills and research abilities needed to complete a Ph.D. programme such as background, state of art, research methods, gathering of data, generation and analysis of results, undertaking a discussion and drawing conclusions.
