Dr. Teggin Summers is Assistant Director for Virginia Tech’s ePortfolio Initiatives. Before coming to Virginia Tech, she taught writing online and participated in the widescale adoption of electronic portfolios across the University of Georgia's First-Year Writing program. She is dedicated to seeing the use of ePortfolios grow and contribute to the learning environment at Virginia Tech. Her interests include teaching and learning, eLearning tools, ePortfolios, and rhetorical and pedagogical theory.

Teggin Summers received her PhD from the University of Georgia in 2008, specializing in rhetoric and composition, theory, and humanities computing. Having taught writing, including online courses, over the past eight years, she has a breadth of experience with learning technologies and electronic portfolios, including the wide-scale adoption of ePortfolios across the University of Georgia's First-Year Composition program. Dr. Summers currently serves as the Assistant Director for ePortfolio Initiatives at Virginia Tech. In this role, she contributes to the development of ePortfolio-related curriculum for learning, assessment, and professional development, as well as faculty development and training. Her current research interests include the use the ePortfolios to facilitate learning and assessment in the 21st century.

My title at the University of Virginia is Faculty Consultant in Instructional Technology. I work with any faculty member at the University who is interested in technology integration in teaching. I am also responsible for developing and promoting the use of our course management system by our faculty. We run Sakai which we have branded UVaCollab.
