I am a former 2nd grade teacher and business owner (educational multimedia development firm in Austin, TX 1995-2001). I have been working as an instructional designer at TX State since 2002 helping faculty develop online courses.
My title at the University of Virginia is Faculty Consultant in Instructional Technology. I work with any faculty member at the University who is interested in technology integration in teaching. I am also responsible for developing and promoting the use of our course management system by our faculty. We run Sakai which we have branded UVaCollab.

I am the instructional designer for the Kaiser Hayward PT Fellowship program and a course developer and adjunct online faculty member at three institutions of higher learning: California State University East Bay, UC Irvine Extension, and Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, MO. I have developed online courses in Sakai, Blackboard, and Moodle. I have a master's degree in Education with a concentration in Online Teaching and Learning from California State University East Bay.
I am Instructional Designer for Academic Technology & eLearning at Marist College. In this capacity, I train faculty to use Sakai and other learning technologies to enhance student learning, collaborate in the design of technology-enhanced learning activities, and oversees the deployment of the OSP pilot projects.

Emily Springfield, MS Ed, BA, has worked in the field of instructional technology since 1996. Her areas of expertise include online course design, electronic portfolios, and the educational use of technology in face-to-face teaching. Prior to her current position as instructional technology designer at the University of Michigan, she coordinated the Kalamazoo College Electronic Portfolio program. She has also consulted with various institutions on educational technologies and developed the pedagogical framework for a series of textbooks for Microsoft.
