As the Director of Online Professional Development for the New Teacher Center at University of California, Santa Cruz I am leveraging seven years of experience designing and delivering a national online mentoring program to launch a variety of online projects to support teacher and administrator induction. Projects range from a national network of induction leaders, online mentor professional development to beginning teacher support networks that are all offered in Sakai. The New Teacher Center Learning Environment powered by Sakai engages more than 2000 educators in online communities of practice.
Lynn is the Director of Online Professional Development for the New Teacher Center at UC Santa Cruz where she works closely with a variety of programs to design and deliver online professional development to support new teacher and new administrator induction. She is also the Director of e-Mentoring for Student Success, national online mentoring programs for new science and math teachers. Prior to joining the New Teacher Center, Lynn was the Coordinator of the Credential Programs at UCSC and she is building on that experience to lead a Carnegie Corporation funded initiative to collaborate with 12 Teachers for a New Era/Learning Network sites to enhance the alignment between preservice and induction programs. She received her Doctorate in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction from UC Riverside and her Masters in Science Education from Cal State Fullerton. She taught high school science, developed science curriculum and served as a district mentor teacher.
