The Teaching with Sakai Innovation Award (TWSIA) a worldwide search for innovative teaching practices that use the Sakai tools. The major goals of the TWSIA are the following:

Is the Teaching with Sakai Innovation Award reserved to distance learning courses?

No. Any course, either in-class, distance, hybrid or self-paced is eligible. All you need it to use one of the Sakai tools for a part of your course which is offered by an accredited education institution (K12, College, University, etc.).

Do I have to be excellent in every category of the rubrics to apply for the Teaching with Sakai Innovation Award?

No. What the award focuses on is innovation at large. If you implemented a great idea to enhance student learning and feel like you might need to improve in some other aspects, please do not hesitate to submit your application.

Faculty and instructors teaching with Sakai in accredited Higher Education or K-12 schools from around the world are invited to apply.

A panel of judges who are well known for their work on enhancing learning through the appropriate use of technology will evaluate the entered courses and participate in web conferences with finalists to select the winner.
