Teaching with Sakai Innovation Award Process
Faculty and instructors teaching with Sakai in accredited Higher Education or K-12 schools from around the world are invited to apply.
General Overview of Application and Award Process
- Create an account here on the OpenedPractices.org web site. Once signed-in, click on the TWSIA tab and you will find a link to the online entry form in the left navigation menu.
- Review the online entry form to gain an understanding of the entire application process. Be sure to review the process for self-evaluating courses using our rubric.
- Note that the text describing each question appears below (not above) each text box in the online entry form.
- Prepare entries offline in a word processor and copy and paste text into the online entry form.
NOTE: Be sure to use the "Paste from Word" feature when pasting text into the text box. The icon looks like a clipboard with a "W" on it.- The online entry form will contain information on the maximum allowed word count for each question. This maximum word count is approximate. Use the "word count" feature of your word processing application to make sure you remain within these limits.
- If desired, you can download a MS Word version of the application form to work offline, but you MUST SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY USING THE ONLINE FORM. PLEASE BE SURE to also review the online form ahead of you submission so that you can get technical questions answered ahead of the submission deadline.
- Ensure your profile information is complete.
- You can save your application at any time by entering placeholder text in all required fields and return to edit it again later until the entry period ends at Midnight (your local time), Monday, March 15, 2010
- No one but you and the award administrators and evaluators will be able to see your entry until the entry evaluation process is complete. During this time, you will not be able to see your award entry unless you are logged in.
- You will receive award status notification by early April.
- Web conference interviews with finalists will take place in April.
- Winners will be announced in early May.
- Award Presentation Ceremony will take place June 15-17, 2010 at the 11th International Sakai Conference taking place in Denver, CO, USA.
